Henna doesn't lighten hair so if you have a darker brown hair and you do rouge you will probably just get a little red that you'll notice in the sunlight. I have light brown hair and I like to use rouge and maroon it always gives my hair a darker red brown color. And it's always more red where my hair is naturally lighter.
